NCAAF Friday Night Preview: #19 Wisconsin at South Florida & 4 more

August 30th, 2019

This isn’t your normal first week cake walk for the 19th ranked Wisconsin Bagders. They visit the South Florida Bulls tonight and Charlie Strong is looking to bounce back from their Jekyll and Hyde-like season last year.

The Bulls started out 7-0, and rocketed into the AP Top 25 before losing their last six games. Now Coach Strong is in his third year and wants to focus on the good times. "We’re not going to let that define us and how good we can be. I like where we are at" Strong said in a press conference this week.
The question on the table is which USF team will show up? The answer: new and improved. USF has adapted to a dynamic high paced offense from Division II as Kerwin Bell has become the offensive coordinator. If we team that with Charlie Strong’s obvious defensive brilliance over the years, this squad has every right to improve off last year's disappointing record.

But Wisconsin is no slouch either. Coach Paul Chryst has high hopes for this team and is happy to be playing such a tough first game. Let’s talk about the points. 10.5 is a lot to be giving on the road in the first game, especially against a team like USF who could show up much improved.

Take the 10.5 and let Charlie cash for you.

The Pick: University of South Florida +10.5

Rice at Army (-21.5)

There is absolutely no way Rice can get down in the trenches and stop the Army option.

The Pick: Army -21.5

Utah State at Wake Forest (-5)

Don’t sleep on Utah State. They have been close to a breakout season for the last couple years and here is a perfect way to start it. As we mentioned in the upset article, Utah State wins this game outright!

The pick: Utah State Money Line

Colorado State at Colorado (-14)

Take the points in this rivalry game which is always closer than the experts predict. Many changes on both sides and we should expect a highly competitive game.

The Pick: Colorado State (+14)
