History appears to be repeating itself as the Los Angeles Dodgers have their backs to the wall in Game 5 of the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday night. The Braves, memorably, had a 3-1 stranglehold on the 2020 NLCS before letting the Dodgers win three straight games en route to their first World Series championship since 1988.

We’ll start finding out if Atlanta can seal the deal in Game 5 with Max Fried on the mound and punch their ticket to the Fall Classic as we highlight our three favorite player prop wagers for this contest.

Eddie Rosario Over/Under 0.5 Hits

Braves left fielder Eddie Rosario has played no small part in his team’s success thus far this postseason. He has two four-hit games to his credit in the NLCS, and has hit safely in all eight 2021 playoff games to date. That includes his two-homer evening in Game 4 that sent the Dodgers to the brink in this series.

L.A. has yet to announce a starter for Game 5, making predicting Braves player props a bit murkier, but Rosario has been flat-out hitting regardless of who’s been on the mound this postseason. The Over is the way to go here.

MLB pick: Over (-220)

Chris Taylor Over/Under 0.5 Hits

Chris Taylor could slide into third base in L.A. manager Dave Roberts’ lineup with Justin Turner now likely done for the season with a hamstring injury. The team co-leader in RBI (six) should be able to make an impact in Game 5.

Taylor took an 0-for-3 in Game 4 but went 5-for-9 with two doubles, three RBI, and three walks in the first three games of this series. Look for one of the Dodgers’ most underrated players to get into the hit column once again at a very fair price.

MLB pick: Over (-148)

Trea Turner Over/Under 0.5 RBI

After hitting a major-league best .328 in the regular season, Trea Turner has been a total flop for the Dodgers in the postseason.

The speedy second baseman is a modest 8-for-44 (.182) in these playoffs with only two extra-base hits and just one RBI. Corey Seager (.205 average) has struggled ahead of Turner, but leadoff man extraordinaire Mookie Betts (.368 average) certainly has not.

Bettors should side against Turner coming up with a timely hit on Thursday night.

MLB pick: Under (-250)
