We’re taking a look at a pair of four-game home-and-home interleague series that just switched venues for Wednesday night. They contain our best bets of the evening.

The Diamondbacks more than held their own against a solid Athletics team at Chase Field on Monday and Tuesday night, and have now won six in a row. They’ll send one of their better starters, Merrill Kelly, to the hill at Oakland Coliseum as they attempt to secure the series victory.

Kelly (3-1, 1.71 ERA) has produced a quality start in each of his first four outings of 2020. He’s allowed just two earned runs combined in his first two road starts of the year (13 2/3 innings). Kelly could have the upper hand against an A’s lineup that’s never seen him before. Oakland hasn’t done much against Arizona’s bullpen thus far in this series, scratching out one run over six innings.

Jesus Luzardo, responding for the A’s, was shelled in his most recent effort against the San Francisco Giants, serving up six runs on nine hits in just 3 1/3 innings of work on Friday. It’s hard to envision him keeping a lid on things against a D-backs offense that’s averaging 7.33 runs per game during their six-game win streak. That includes their 10-1 shellacking of the A’s on Tuesday night in which Oakland staff ace Frankie Montas was tagged for nine runs over 1 2/3 frames.

It should be another big night for the Dodgers’ offense as they face Mariners starter Taijuan Walker, whom they have plenty of positive experience against.

Walker, with the NL West-rival Diamondbacks from 2017 to 2019, has a career ERA of 4.88 in 27 2/3 innings of work against L.A. with a 1.63 WHIP. Joc Pederson and Corey Seager – in particular – have thrived against Walker, going a combined 10-for-22 (.454) with a homer and six RBI. Assuming the Dodgers chase Walker early, they’ll have extra at-bats against a Seattle bullpen that’s 29th in the majors with a 6.38 ERA.

Julio Urias, 2-0 with a 2.53 ERA in four starts this season, seems more than capable of holding down the fort for six innings or so against a Mariners offense that’s 29th in runs per game this year (3.84). He’ll then turn things over to an L.A. bullpen that leads the game in ERA at 1.57.
