It’s a terrific Tuesday for betting baseball! Let’s discuss our two favorite sides below.

We’ll start with a preview of the NL East battle between the Miami Marlins and the Philadelphia Phillies. Then we’ll move on to a late-night NL West clash between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Marlins appear to be offering solid value on Tuesday night as they start a three-game set in Citizens Bank Park against the Phillies.

Trevor Rogers will toe the rubber for Miami, and his last outing was subpar by his standards, as he allowed three earned runs in only five innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. Rogers hadn’t done that in eight starts, and pitched to a 1.85 ERA in that span. Two of those outings came against Philadelphia, whom he limited to two earned runs over 12 2/3 innings.

The Phillies’ offense enters this tilt in a minor slump, as they’ve mustered just 3.75 runs per game over their last five contests. They’re unlikely to fare well against Rogers or the Marlins’ bullpen, which sports an MLB-best 1.32 ERA over the last two weeks.

Vince Velasquez counters for the Phils, and it’s difficult to draw much encouragement from his last five starts, as he’s authored a 7.97 ERA in that stretch. Philly’s bullpen is a lackluster 22nd by ERA over the last two weeks (4.96), strengthening the case for the Marlins even further.

It’s not often bettors can get odds above even money on the first MLB team to reach 50 wins in a season, but that’s the case with the Giants on Tuesday night as they face the Dodgers.

Kevin Gausman boasts a 1.02 ERA on the road for San Francisco (10 starts), so the L.A. lineup should be concerned. Gausman pitched a near-spotless six innings at Dodger Stadium earlier this year, allowing no runs and striking out seven while surrendering only two hits.

Behind Gausman is a Giants bullpen that’s seventh in ERA over the last two weeks (3.21).

Walker Buehler counters for the Dodgers, and though it’s hard to knock his production in 2021 (7-1, 2.51 ERA, 0.92 WHIP), bettors should note that he hasn’t been “lights-out” at home. Buehler’s ERA at Dodger Stadium is 2.83, and he’s served up 10 home runs over 57 1/3 innings.

Giants second baseman Wilmer Flores has hits in 14 of his last 15 starts – two of which were four-hit games – with four homers and nine RBI, so look for him to deliver for the underdogs in this one.

MLB pick: Giants +125
