The UFC's top pound-for-pound female fighter will face off against a worthy foe in the main event of UFC 250, where Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer will clash.

Spencer’s strong performances suggest she is a fighter to keep an eye on, but is she ready to dethrone one of the most dominant champions in the promotion’s history? BetAmerica has the inside scoop on the big fight!

Nunes has shown no weaknesses

Nunes has been unstoppable during her reign of terror in the UFC, and there really haven't been any chinks in the armor. She is a lethal striker, has shown a formidable ground game, and has incredible ring generalship, which has made her the best female fighter in the world.

It could even be argued that an opponent of Spencer’s caliber is more like a tune-up than a serious threat.

The champion comes in with all the advantages. She is stronger, more aggressive, and doesn’t have the mileage on her, where an up-and-coming contender like Spencer could surprise her.

We’ve seen Nunes tear apart fighters who rely on their toughness to weather the storm, with the hope for some kind of opening for a submission attempt, and that doesn’t bode well for Spencer.

Spencer was outclassed against Cyborg

The former Invicta champion showed her toughness against Cris Cyborg just a few fights ago, but Spencer was clearly out of her depth, in a fight many thought she could steal.

Spencer’s path to victory was to hope Cyborg would drop her guard and get taken down, but Cyborg doled out a nasty beating over the course of their bout. Nunes has better takedown defense than Cyborg, and she is a much better striker.

Spencer’s window of opportunity will be in the first round, when the two are feeling each other out and establishing their rhythm. If Spencer can’t take Nunes down and submit her or clock her with a huge shot, Nunes will close the gap and bomb her out.

Considering Spencer’s lack of punching power, every exchange these two get in will probably result in her getting clipped and slumped, so a grappling match is her only chance to survive.

Don't expect much drama

There is just too much of a gap between these two, in terms of skill and ability. Had this fight come a few years down the line, and Spencer continued to develop, it might have been interesting.

Nunes shouldn’t have much trouble closing the distance and battering Spencer for the duration. Expect Spencer to be too tough for her own good. Her corner will put a halt to this beating in the third round.
