NASCAR Go Bowling at the Glen betting odds and value picks

The NASCAR Cup Series returns after a two-week hiatus with Sunday’s Go Bowling at the Glen (3:00 p.m. ET, NBCSN). The race will be held at Watkins Glen, a track that was dropped from the schedule due to COVID-19 last season.

Chase Elliott is the heavy +200 favorite, which is not surprising considering his extended dominance at road courses. But we’ll go looking for value as we make our top three selections for Sunday’s Go Bowling at the Glen.

Kyle Busch (+800)

Kyle Busch should be happy to see the Cup Series return to Watkins Glen, a track he’s done very well at in the past.

Busch’s 11th-place finish at “The Glen” in 2019 was actually his third-worst result there all-time. He’s hit the Top 10 in 12 of 15 career starts over this course, picking up victories in 2008 and 2013. “The Candy Man” is the active leader in laps led at Watkins Glen (247) by a healthy margin.

Due to an accident at New Hampshire in his most recent Cup Series race, Busch will roll off the grid in 20th place. But bettors are getting good odds on the No. 18 Toyota driver to make up those positions on Sunday.

Denny Hamlin (+1200)

Watkins Glen could be the course where Denny Hamlin picks up his elusive first win of 2021, and at a great price.

Hamlin has hit the Top 5 in three of his last four races at this circuit. That includes his trip to victory lane here in 2016.

Though the No. 11 Toyota driver has gone 12 straight road races without a win, he typically puts himself in position to succeed. Hamlin is third in average finish among full-time Cup Series drivers in road races in that 12-race stretch.

He will begin his day in sixth place.

Joey Logano (+1400)

Joey Logano is a live longshot on Sunday as he seeks his second career score at Watkins Glen.

Logano has quietly put together a solid road course résumé this year, tallying three Top 5s in four attempts. He’s led a respectable 29 laps in those races and placed in five out of a possible eight stages, including a stage win at Circuit of the Americas.

Fresh off a fourth-place finish at New Hampshire, Logano will take the green flag alongside polesitter and teammate Brad Keselowski when the Go Bowling at the Glen begins.
