On Thursday night against the New York Jets, Lamar Jackson broke Michael Vick’s single-season rushing record for a quarterback and still has two more games to add to his total.
By the end of the first quarter, Jackson had surpassed the former Falcons star’s 1,039 yards and ended the night with a game-high 86 rushing yards to push his total to 1,103.
Vick’s rushing mark isn’t the only record Jackson can shatter in the 2019 season. Let’s look ahead at the history Jackson still has potential to create.
Jackson can break Roethlisberger’s record if the Ravens secure a title win February 2 in Miami. Jackson will turn 23 on January 7.

Youngest starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl
Just a month shy of turning 24, Ben Roethlisberger became the youngest QB to earn a Super Bowl title in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on February 5, 2006.Jackson can break Roethlisberger’s record if the Ravens secure a title win February 2 in Miami. Jackson will turn 23 on January 7.
The Ravens are the +220 favorite to win Super Bowl LIV, are riding a 10-game win streak and already bested the top team in the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers (+450).
10th Heisman winner to earn MVP
In 2016 fellow dual-threat quarterback Cam Newton became the ninth Heisman winner to be named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player.
Before Newton running back Barry Sanders achieved the feat in 1997. Frank Sinkwich (1944), Paul Hornung (1961), Roger Staubach (1971), O.J. Simpson (1973), Earl Campbell (1978 and 1979) and Marcus Allen (1985) round out the remaining list of Heisman-MVP recipients.
Jackson collected the coveted collegiate award in 2016, when he played for Louisville. He’s a shoo-in (-5000) to add the MVP to his trophy case, and there’s no reason his impressive production should slip to close out the regular season.
Jackson is currently tied with Vinny Testaverde for the Ravens' single-season passing touchdown record, but he's almost certain to add more in the coming weeks.

Most passing touchdowns by a Ravens QB in one season
Jackson has passed for 33 touchdowns and run for another seven this season. Through 13 games, he's accomplished three five-touchdown outings, including against the Jets on Thursday.Jackson is currently tied with Vinny Testaverde for the Ravens' single-season passing touchdown record, but he's almost certain to add more in the coming weeks.
In Week 4 Jackson scored three times through the air in an unexpected 40-25 loss to Cleveland. He'll get the same opponent in Week 16 and will surely be out for revenge and a few more TDs. Jackson will also encounter the second-worst pass defense in the league when the Ravens host the Steelers in Week 17.
First quarterback to record 3,000 passing and 1,000 rushing yards in one season
Jackson is just 111 passing yards away from becoming the first quarterback to register 3,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in one season.Jackson averages 206.4 yards per game, and with the competition remaining on the schedule, it's only a matter of time before the electrifying star celebrates yet another historic accomplishment on the road to an MVP season.
