The emergence of Darren Waller has been a huge boost for Derek Carr and the Raiders offense.
After a breakout 2019 season in Oakland – two years removed from a season-long suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy – Waller is on the verge of another productive campaign as one of football’s best tight ends.
There is an opportunity here for Waller to have another big game, and perhaps get into the end zone for his eighth touchdown of the season.

— Paul Gutierrez (@PGutierrezESPN) December 9, 2020
Exhibit A: Waller had 27 targets in his last two weeks, culminating in 20 catches for 275 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 20 red zone targets, and there should be a chance for more on Thursday.
Exhibit B: The Chargers have given up nine touchdowns to tight ends this season – including one to Waller back in November – which ties them for the third most TDs given up to that position in the league, according to Football Reference.
The potential for Waller to get into the end zone, combined with odds of +105 to score an anytime touchdown, should garner interest from bettors.
Pick: Darren Waller anytime touchdown (+105)
Derek Carr interceptions
Turnovers can be killers to a team’s chances at this time of year, and Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has been responsible for at least one interception or fumble in each of the last four weeks.
Carr has thrown interceptions in four straight games, including multiple picks in the Raiders’ Week 14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Chargers are in the middle of the pack when it comes to interceptions, with nine on the season. Carr should get some credit for an efficient performance in Week 9 against the Chargers, throwing for just 165 yards, but tossing two touchdown passes and no interceptions.
The mistakes, however, have been piling up in recent weeks, and perhaps the Chargers will be able to take one of those errors from Carr and turn it into a pick six.

Frank Reich: “Didn’t know if Odell Beckham Jr. was playing defense for us.”

Derek Carr to go Over 0.5 Interceptions has odds of +120 at BetAmerica, and the Chargers defense is coming off a three-interception day against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14.
Pick: Over 0.5 interceptions (+120)
Keenan Allen receptions
Keenan Allen is a target machine.
The veteran receiver has reached double digits for targets in all but three games this season. Justin Herbert has been looking his way since he took over as the starting quarterback, and Allen has been able to turn that trust into several highly productive outings this season.
Allen had nine catches on 11 targets for 103 yards against the Raiders back in Week 9. We don’t need nine catches for the Over to hit here, as the total has been set at 6.5 heading into Thursday.

On eight occasions this season, Allen has been able to turn a heavy share of targets into seven or more catches in a single game. If the targets are there again on Thursday, Allen should be able to convert enough of them into receptions for the Over to hit.
Keep an eye on his status heading into Thursday, as he was listed as questionable with a hamstring ailment.
Pick: Keenan Allen Over 6.5 receptions (-120)
