Colts vs. Ravens: The best player prop bets for MNF

The Indianapolis Colts recorded a much-needed victory last Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. However, they're still only 1-3 and could desperately use a big road win over a fellow AFC playoff contender.

They'll get that chance on Monday night when they return to their old stomping grounds in Baltimore, where the franchise was situated from 1953 to 1983. It will be a tough task, as the Colts will face a red-hot Ravens team that has won three straight games since falling in overtime to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1.

Let's examine the three best player props to bet ahead of the Monday Night Football matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens.

Touchdown scorer: Zach Pascal

This season has been a rough one for Carson Wentz through four games. However, the one constant has been his connection with wideout Zach Pascal. Wentz only has five passing touchdowns this year and three of them have gone to Pascal.

Pascal has surpassed five targets in every game this season, and had six targets in the 2020 meeting with the Ravens. The Ravens' defense is excellent against the run, but mediocre-to-bad against the pass.

Since this touchdown can come at any time to hit the wager and there is the possibility of Wentz & Co. needing to play catch up, there is a lot of opportunity here. The odds just seem a bit too high for the leading touchdown scorer on the team.

Lamar Jackson Over/Under 1.5 passing touchdowns

Surprisingly, Lamar Jackson has yet to have a multi-passing touchdown game this year. However, he does have exactly one passing touchdown in each game. Last year against the Colts, the former MVP had a rushing touchdown, but no passing touchdowns in a 24-10 victory.

The Colts have a good pass defense in terms of yardage allowed, but not in terms of touchdowns allowed. They have allowed 11 passing touchdowns through four games, which is just shy of three per game. Every opposing quarterback thus far has thrown for at least two passing touchdowns.

Jackson has had opportunities to have multi-passing touchdown games, but drops by receivers have prevented that. I do not see this being a barn-burner, but there will be opportunities to score, especially through the air. I love the Over here.

Jonathan Taylor Over/Under 59.5 rushing yards

Jonathan Taylor is trending upwards. After averaging only 3.3 yards per carry in his first two games, he has averaged 6.4 yards per carry in his last two games.

Even given those low yards per carry in his first two games, Taylor still ran for over 51 yards in each. Last week against Miami, he eclipsed the 100-yard mark.

While no running back has eclipsed 60 yards yet this season against the Ravens, no one has been given 15+ carries in a game against them either. The Colts understand they need to control the running game to win this week, and will give Taylor close to 20 carries. That volume alone will get him Over this number.
