We’re into the month of December, and National Football League playoff pushes are in full swing. This week’s action kicked off with one playoff hopeful getting back on the right track, and a recap of that game tops this week’s NFL Notebook.

Dallas Rebounds, Tops New Orleans

The Dallas Cowboys brushed off a tough Thanksgiving loss and a week that included a COVID-19 outbreak with a 27-17 win over the Saints Thursday night. The Cowboys forced Taysom Hill to throw four interceptions, including a game-sealing Pick Six in the final minutes.

Now 8-4 on the 2021 campaign, Dallas will continue its current three-game road trip next weekend with a stop in our nation’s capital to battle the Washington Football Team.

Brown Headlines List Of COVID-19 Suspensions

More information has come out about a story we touched on last week, and in the spirit of the rumor that sparked it, it’s bizarre. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown is one of three players suspended for submitting false documentation pertaining to COVID-19 vaccination.

Last week, word leaked out that Brown may have obtained a fake vaccination card, and an investigation seems to have confirmed that. In addition, safety Mike Edwards and former practice squad wide receiver John Franklin III (probably best known for his turn in the first season of Last Chance U) were suspended three games, and none of them plan to appeal.

Steelers/Ravens Headlines Sunday Slate

One of the NFL’s most bitter rivalries headlines this weekend’s action. The AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens are just 2 1/2 games up on the Pittsburgh Steelers, who likely need to win Sunday’s clash at Heinz Field to even think about a playoff spot.

The Ravens, meanwhile, can’t get overconfident, as the surprising Cincinnati Bengals sit just a game behind at 7-4.

AFC West Foes Square Off Sunday Night

The Sunday slate finishes up with a battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos.

The four teams in that division are separated by just one game, with the 7-4 Chiefs a game up on Denver, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas (who all sit at 6-5). It’s the first of two meetings between these teams in the last six weeks of the season. They’ll face off again in the final week of the campaign.
