NFL Week 10: Seahawks vs. Rams odds, preview, and pick

The Los Angeles Rams should be well-rested and well-prepared for their Week 10 matchup with the rival Seattle Seahawks, who are recovering from a frustrating loss last weekend in Buffalo.

Seattle’s lead atop the NFC West is a precarious one. With a 6-2 record, they lead both the Rams and Arizona Cardinals by just a single game heading into this week, but their flaws have become more apparent recently.

As crucial as this game is to both clubs, predicting which versions of these teams will show up is like trying to predict what will happen when Bryson DeChambeau takes the driver out of the bag at Augusta National.

Sorry, we couldn't resist.

Seahawks struggled on both sides of the ball last week

Russell Wilson is one of the favorites to win NFL MVP this season, but as spectacular as he’s been, he won’t get a free pass for what happened last week.

Yes, he threw for a season-high 390 yards and two touchdowns. He also coughed up the ball four times. Wilson had just one fumble lost through the first eight weeks, but the Bills defense was able to get to the often-elusive quarterback, and four turnovers was a result.

Despite last week's woes, Wilson should remain at the forefront of the MVP conversation – making room for Patrick Mahomes, of course – but we can't ignore the fact that he has turned the ball over a total of seven times in Seattle’s two losses, which came in Weeks 7 and 9.

On the defensive side of the ball … where do we begin?

Seattle was heavy on the blitz last weekend, and while they got pressure on Josh Allen with seven sacks, they also gave up 415 pass yards and three touchdowns. They made mistakes in the secondary, and they made them big. That outing in Buffalo pretty much brought this group back to Square One.

The Rams offense might not be quite on the same level it was two years ago when L.A. went to the Super Bowl, but Jared Goff & Co. have to be licking their chops at the prospect of facing Seattle's slipshod defense.

Will Jared Goff go off against the Seahawks?

Like Russell Wilson, Jared Goff is coming off a forgettable performance, this time to the Miami Dolphins in Week 8. He threw for a big total of 355 yards, but he was picked off twice, sacked twice, and fumbled the ball twice.

The Rams are in the middle of the pack in the NFL when it comes to the pass game. There is nothing spectacular about it, with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions and just over 258 yards passing per game. There may be no better time for a visit from the Seahawks’ secondary.

After what happened in Buffalo, the Seahawks defense has now given up the most pass yards in the league (2,897). They’ve actually held up nicely against the run, giving up only 3.7 yards per carry, and they will face a Rams team that does a good job of running the ball. Unfortunately, stopping the pass has been a nightmare.

Even with Goff being less than dominant, the Rams still have an opportunity to take advantage of the Seahawks through the air.

Injury Report

Injuries continue to hamper the Seahawks. Running back Chris Carson (foot), cornerback Quinton Dunbar (knee), linebacker K.J. Wright (ankle), and center Ethan Pocic (concussion) were all non-participants in practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Rams, who come off their bye week, had running back Darrell Henderson (quad) and receiver Cooper Kupp (oblique) listed as limited participants on Thursday. Linebacker Leonard Floyd did not practice Thursday with a knee injury.

Will the Rams cover the spread against the Seahawks in Week 10?

Betting Trends

The Seahawks enter this game with a 5-3 record against the spread, however, that record is just 2-2 on the road.

Fancy betting the Overs in football? The Seahawks, with that great offense but suspect defense, always seem to feature in high-scoring contests. The Over is 6-2 in Seattle’s games this season, and 3-1 on the road.

The Rams are 4-4 against the spread, including a better 2-1 record at home. The Over is only 2-6 in Rams games this season, including 0-3 at home.

Score prediction: Seahawks 23, Rams 31

Picks: Rams -2, Under 54.5
