*This article has since been updated to reflect Tom Brady's record against each NFL team as of Feb. 1, 2022.

On Feb. 1, 2022, Tom Brady officially announced his retirement from the NFL, putting an end to a legendary 22-year career — one which no other quarterback may ever come close to matching.

Across 20 seasons in New England and two seasons in Tampa Bay, the 44-year-old stockpiled a collection of seven Super Bowl rings, five Super Bowl MVP awards, three league MVPs, 15 Pro Bowl nominations, and a host of other accolades and all-time records along the way.

For his career, Brady finished with a 243-73 record as a starter in the regular season and 35-12 in 47 playoff appearances.

In his final season, Brady added even more milestones to his résumé. In Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season, he made history with his 300th career start, the most by any NFL player, and received a record-setting 15th Pro Bowl nomination in December.

Let's deep dive further into the G.O.A.T.'s career, as we examine Brady’s regular-season and postseason records against each NFL franchise, plus look at a few fun facts related to some of his most memorable matchups.

Brady vs. the Arizona Cardinals

Brady has only faced the Cardinals twice, the fewest amount of games he has played against any one NFL team, other than the Patriots.

In 2004, he and the Patriots bested Josh McCown and Arizona, 23-12. He lost his other meeting, 20-18, in 2012 against former Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb.

The Patriots also defeated Arizona in 2008, while Brady was sidelined with an ACL injury, and again in 2016, when Jimmy Garoppolo stepped in at quarterback while Brady was suspended.

Brady vs. the Carolina Panthers

Before coming to Tampa, Brady owned a losing regular-season record against Carolina. Early in the 2020 season, he evened the series 3-3 with a 31-17 win. In the second meeting of the season, Brady crushed Carolina, 46-23, in Week 10.

In Brady's lone postseason meeting with the Panthers, he earned his second Super Bowl win, when he beat Jake Delhomme and Carolina in 2004.

Brady vs. the Denver Broncos

In Week 3 of the 2020 season, Brady topped Denver, 28-10, to bring his regular-season series record to 8-6.

His track record against Denver in the playoffs is another story. In four postseason games, Brady has won just once, in the Divisional Round against quarterback Tim Tebow in 2012.

In 2006, he lost to Jake Plummer and the Broncos in the Divisional Round, and fell twice to Peyton Manning's Broncos in the postseason, in the 2014 and 2016 AFC Championship Games.

Brady vs. the Indianapolis Colts

Brady vs. Manning may be the most famous quarterback battle in NFL history. While Manning got the better of Brady in the playoffs during Manning's time in Denver, Brady's Patriots consistently beat down Manning in Indy.

Brady won six straight against Manning's Colts, from 2001-05. Two of those victories included an AFC Championship Game win and Divisional Round win.

The Colts reeled off three consecutive victories from there, including a win against Brady's Patriots in the AFC Championship Game in 2007.

For his career, Brady was 8-4 against Manning's Colts, and is 12-3 overall against Indianapolis in the regular season.

In the postseason, Brady is 4-1 against Indy. Two of those wins came against Manning, while the other two were against Andrew Luck.

Brady vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars

Of his eight victories over Jacksonville, two came against current Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, while he was the Jags' quarterback.

Brady vs. the Kansas City Chiefs

Brady squared off against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Week 12 on Nov. 29 and fell to the reigning Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career.

However, Brady had the last laugh at Super Bowl LV on Feb. 7, when he by captured his seventh Super Bowl title. The 43-year-old signal caller went 21-for-29 for 201 yards and three touchdowns and staked the Bucs to an early lead they never relinquished. The performance earned TB12 his record fifth Super Bowl MVP award.

Brady vs. the Las Vegas Raiders

There may be no fanbase that hates Brady more because of one infamous officiating call that will forever go down in NFL lore.

Known today as "The Tuck Rule Game," a second-seeded New England faced No. 3 seed Oakland in the 2002 AFC Divisional Round. Late in the fourth quarter, with New England down three, Brady appeared to fumble the ball, which Oakland recovered. However, a controversial ruling allowed New England to keep the ball and march down the field to kick a game-tying field goal.

The game went to overtime, New England won, and Brady went on to claim his first Super Bowl title against the Saint Louis Rams.

Brady vs. the Miami Dolphins

At 24-12, Brady's dozen losses to Miami are the most he has recorded against any NFL team.

Brady vs. the Minnesota Vikings

In Week 14, Brady kept his undefeated record against Minnesota intact. In a 26-14 victory, he threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns, including one to former Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski.

Brady vs. the New England Patriots

In Week 4 of the 2021 season, Brady made his return to New England to confront his former head coach Bill Belichick.

Brady completed 22 of 43 passes for 269 yards but failed to record a touchdown for the first time that season, in a close, 19-17 win against Belichick and rookie quarterback Mac Jones.

The longtime Patriot quarterback also became just the fourth QB in NFL history to beat all 32 NFL teams and eclipsed Drew Brees' record for most passing yards all time.

Brady vs. the New Orleans Saints

Brady is 4-5 against New Orleans in the regular season and 3-5 overall against Drew Brees. Two of Brees' victories over Brady came as quarterback of the San Diego Chargers in 2002 and 2005.

Brady lost the 2020 season opener to the Saints and was destroyed by Brees and company in Week 9 in a 38-3 thumping in Tampa. He got his revenge in the NFL Divisional Round this year, when the Bucs downed the Saints 30-20 on Jan. 17, 2021.

Brady vs. the New York Giants

Brady is a dominant 6-1 against the Giants in the regular season, but he lost both times he faced New York and quarterback Eli Manning in the Super Bowl.

Brady vs. the Philadelphia Eagles

Brady won his third Super Bowl against the Eagles in 2005 and lost one Super Bowl to Philly in 2017.

Brady vs. the Los Angeles Rams

Brady’s first and sixth Super Bowl titles were won against the Rams.

His final career game also came against Los Angeles, who knocked out Brady and the Bucs in the Divisional Round with a 30-27 win in January 2022.

Brady vs. the Tennessee Titans

In the 2019 Wild Card Round, Tennessee handed Brady his most recent playoff loss, which also marked his final game as a Patriot.
