The Anaheim Ducks have loudly announced that they’re back and ready to contend with the best. Dallas Eakins & Co. sit atop the Pacific Division after the first month of play, despite the fact most pundits expected the squad to be navigating a long and arduous rebuild.

The Ducks will welcome the Carolina Hurricanes to the Honda Center tonight. Carolina sit one point back of first place in the Metropolitan Division, and have flawlessly continued to build on their recent success.

Canes netminder Freddy Anderson (9-2-0) and Ducks goalie John Gibson (9-2-2) are expected to get the start between the pipes. It will be an interesting clash of styles as the Ducks' offense ranks third in the league in goals for, while Carolina has displayed a more balanced approach, allowing the least amount of goals against.

TROY TERRY: TO SCORE AT LEAST ONE POINT

Starting the season on a 15-game point streak, Troy "Five-Hole" Terry currently has the hottest stick in the league. Contributing as both a goal scorer with 11 goals and a playmaker with 10 assists, the 24-year-old has proven to be a threat whenever he’s on the ice.

There’s no need to overthink things here. Terry has the confidence and poise to keep his impressive point streak going.

PICK: YES (-125)

RYAN GETZLAF: OVER/UNDER 1.5 SHOTS ON GOAL

Ryan Getzlaf notched an historic milestone in his previous game when he collected his 1,000th career point. The 17-year veteran and Stanley Cup champion seems to be reinvigorated this season, contributing to the Ducks’ hot start with 18 points in 17 games.

Keeping Getz involved in the action will be key to Anaheim’s success tonight and throughout the year. He’s currently averaging just under three shots on goal per game in 2021-22, and looks to be up for the task again tonight.

PICK: OVER 1.5 (-155)

TONY DEANGELO: TO SCORE AT LEAST ONE POINT

Leading the way for the Canes from the blue line is Tony DeAngelo, who is tied for third in the league for points scored by a defenseman (14), and second in the league for best plus-minus (+13).

DeAngelo is paying dividends for the Canes after being a controversial free agent signing for the club this past offseason. Collecting four points in his last five games - including a goal scored two nights ago against Vegas - the D-man is a good bet to continue his solid play tonight.

PICK: YES (-139)
