For the first time in nearly two years, the Toronto Maple Leafs will take on the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night.

These teams have combined for 70 goals over their last 10 meetings, so fans of “firewagon hockey” could be in for a treat here. But it’s been so long since their last meeting that there’s been significant roster turnover, and confirmed starting goalies Carter Hart of the Flyers and Jack Campbell of the Maple Leafs have both been in good form.
Let’s go over our three favorite player prop wagers for this contest.

Mitch Marner to score at least one point
Mitch Marner has 13 points through 13 games, with 10 of those coming in his first four games of November. The red-hot Marner should find the scoresheet once more against Philadelphia.

The Toronto forward has set up John Tavares alone on three different occasions to begin this month, and Auston Matthews on three separate power play chances. The Flyers take the eighth-most penalties per game in the NHL, so Marner and company should have their fair share of man-advantage opportunities.
Marner, of course, was also blessed with the shooter’s touch, so he can generate some chances for himself as well. Taking +180 on Marner to score a goal is tempting, but let’s stick with the more attainable “Yes” for him to register a point in this one.
NHL pick: Yes (-240)
Claude Giroux Over/Under 2.5 shots
Claude Giroux has long had a reputation as a “pass first” center, but the Philadelphia captain has been taking matters into his own hands this season.

Giroux is averaging 3.2 shots per game this year, clearing the 2.5-shot threshold in five of his last seven overall, and four of his first five home games of the campaign. Four of his five goals on the season have come at home too.
Giroux is available at a generous +220 to score a goal in this tilt, but Campbell is a tough nut to crack regardless of venue. Bet on Giroux to at least make Campbell work up a sweat, if he can’t beat him.
NHL pick: Over (-112)
Keith Yandle to score at least one point
Flyers defenseman Keith Yandle tallied five points (all assists) in his first three games of the year before hitting the skids. He appears poised for an eighth straight tilt being held off the scoresheet on Wednesday night.
Yandle has taken just four shots in his last four games, and his ice time diminished to a season-low 12:05 when last seen against the Washington Capitals. You can’t score if you’re on the bench for poor performance.
NHL pick: No (-177)
