Premier League picks: Man Utd has plenty to play for in final game of season
This is it. The final matchday of the Premier League season is Sunday with 10 fixtures.
Liverpool has already captured the league title, capping off a 2019-20 campaign that was interrupted for three months by the COVID-19 pandemic. The chase for a championship is over, but there are still two spots up for grabs in the Champions League, and three teams still vying over them.
Here are the bets we fancy at BetAmerica for Sunday’s Premier League fixtures.
Leicester City vs. Manchester United

This is a critical match in the hunt for a Champions League spot. Leicester City is fifth in the Premier League table and only one point back of a surging Manchester City side heading into Sunday’s match.
A win or draw, and Manchester United is off to the Champions League. A loss would keep them at 63 points, requiring a Chelsea loss versus Wolves, while Leicester City would move to 65 points and into the top four in the table.
These clubs have recently been going in opposite directions of late. Leicester City has been all over the map with two wins, two losses and a draw in its last five matches. When they’ve lost, they’ve lost big, most recently a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Manchester United has results in five straight, including three wins, and have looked increasingly dangerous on the attack with Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes. A recent pair of draws to Southampton and West Ham United might cause some bettors to hesitate on taking Manchester United in this spot.
“A few games ago they were battering teams and now it has come to a halt.”

“Fernandes hasn’t been great in the last few games, Rashford didn’t play well.”
“Was it just another false dawn?” 🤔@talkSPORTDrive questions if people have been overhyping Man United. 🔴 pic.twitter.com/ukaXqYQnW2
With what’s at stake, both clubs have had share of regrettable moments in this stretch drive. But confidence should ultimately side with Manchester United and the Over 2.5 total goals.
Pick: Manchester United to win & Over 2.5 goals (+235)
Burnley vs. Brighton

It hasn't been pretty or overly entertaining, but Burnley has been on a nice run since the Premier League re-started in the middle of June, earning at least a single point in each of their last seven matches.
If you’re hungry for goals, however, their brand of soccer probably isn’t for you. Since the re-start, the Under 2.5 total goals prop has hit in seven of eight matches that Burnley has played in. The exception was a 5-0 loss to Manchester City on June 22, in what was their first match of the re-start.
Burnley closes out the season against a Brighton team that’s going through a miserable spell, with one win in its last six matches, and only three goals scored in that time.
This feels like another low-scoring contest. Burnley has done well to get results against better teams like Wolves and Liverpool – recently earning 1-1 draws against both clubs – and has been able to get its low-scoring victories against lesser opponents like West Ham United and Norwich.
Brighton falls into the latter category of teams. Burnley should be able to take care of business again, getting the win with few goals on the board.
Pick: Burnley to win & Under 3.5 goals (+180)
Chelsea vs. Wolverhampton

Chelsea is the third team vying for one of two remaining Champions League spots – but we’ll be honest, we have no idea what to expect from them. At least it keeps us all on our toes.
Chelsea can qualify for Champions League with a win or draw, or with a Manchester United win over Leicester City.
Chelsea has conceded plenty of goals of late and has lost to teams below them in the table. They attempted a furious comeback against Liverpool earlier this week after going down by three goals, but ultimately fell short in a 5-3 loss.
Chelsea, who needed a win, conceded 5 to a Liverpool team whose main focus was the order in which the tracks they selected for the post game playlist would be played

Wolves hasn’t been scoring at a ridiculously high rate since the re-start, but can we honestly expect Chelsea to lock it down defensively and keep a team other than Norwich from scoring? They’ve been leaking goals left and right at times.
With Chelsea’s propensity for conceding goals, it feels like there could be a few scores between these clubs.
Pick: Both teams to score & Over 2.5 goals (+125)
